Cut in half lengthwise, scrape out seeds and strings. Bake, cut
side down, in a baking dish with ¼ inch water for 30 minutes
at 375. Turn upright and fill with a mixture of sautéed onion
and celery (or celery seed) mixed with sour cream and pepper. Bake
for an additional 20 - 30 minutes. Sprinkle with grated cheese (sharp
cheddar tastes great) and place under broiler until the cheese is
melted. This stuffing is great in a variety of squash. |
